During the summer of 2021, I am working in San Juan Capistrano at the Ecology Center. The Ecology Center is a farm where the goal is to provide high quality food to people in the San Juan area who are deemed food insecure. The Ecology Center is a community intervention with the goal to increase food competency for the area regarding foods that increase overall health. My daily work includes helping identify families who needs access to food, help create educational programming to engage families and ensure that the work we do is culturally appropriate.
